Located proximity to Koneswaram Kovil (Thousand Pillars Temple) with superb and tremendous breathtaking views. The surrounding are truly amazing to look at with 350ft sheer drop. According to the legend, this place also linked to King Rawana Era and that is why it’s called “Ravana’s Cleft”.  People believe Rawana hit to this place by his sword and due to that power, this stone divided into two pieces. That is why people call it Rawana Cleft. The place is such tremendous to look at and it will make the enormous feeling for you. The reason why this place called “Lovers Leap” because of Francina Van Reed, she was a daughter the r of the civil officer who worked in Sri Lanka. During the, stay she fallen in love with Dutch officer. Agreed to engage but suddenly he broke the engagement and return to Dutch. She was totally forsaken and she could not imagine what to do. The officer had to finish his duties in Sri Lanka. She was looking the vessel leaving the country. On the day that Dutch officer leaving from the Harbor of Trincomalee she went to the top of the mountain and flung herself from the rock into the sea.
