The Museum present colonial era and how Trincomalee used strategically to increase the safety and defence. The place named with Sir Samuel Hood who was a commander of the East Indies Station. Hoods Tower Museum located on Sri Lanka Navy Dockyard and there is a great observation tower and that is called by Hoods Tower. With the heavy artillery can aim any place of the harbour and can shoot to the harbour mouth when entering an enemy vessel. Those are rotatable and adjust with the location. Therefore this was a superb station to protect the harbour from enemies. There is an artillery ammunition which works by chain one person can feed the chain and bottom of the surfaced shimmer. There are many types of equipment displayed that used by L.T.T.E Carders especially there are suicide bombs displayed that used by the Carders. It is a great place to observe the war history of the Sri Lanka.
